Case 2: Mark, a 27-year-old man complaining of a genital ulcer.


Continuing education credit (CE) is provided as described below (CME, CNE, CEU) for each individual case completed in the series.

Continuing Medical Education (CME)

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Network of STD/HIV Prevention Training Centers (NNPTC). CDC is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CDC designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.25 hours in category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

Continuing Nursing Education Credit (CNE)

This activity for 1.2 of contact hours is provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Continuing Education Units (CEU)

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been approved as an Authorized Provider of continuing education and training programs by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training and awards 0.1 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

In order to receive continuing education credit, you will be required to take an exam consisting of 10 multiple choice questions after each case completed. No minimum score is necessary in order to receive your CE credit. After the exam, you must also complete an evaluation of the case. Upon successful completion of each case, the exam and the evaluation, your continuing education credit will be issued. An easy, on-line form is available so that you may print your certificate immediately. There is no fee required to receive CE credit for this activity.
